Far-Sighted / Near Sighted Vision

When we think about common eye problems, poor vision caused due to aging cant be ignored. Farsightedness, termed as hyperopia is a condition where you can see the distant objects clearly, while the nearby objects don’t appear clear. Near sighted vision is contrary to the farsighted vision called as Myopia. This is the condition where closer objects are clear and distant objects appear dull and clumsy.  Both these conditions are caused by aging, wear and tear and weak nerves caused due to aging. This can be corrected by wearing eyeglasses.

Pink Eyes aka Conjunctivitis

A very popular and one of the common eye problems characterized by redness of the eyes. It is a viral infection. Although it doesn’t spread directly by seeing the affected individual, the virus spread in the air and affects the neighbors. Conjunctivitis suppresses itself in a few days.

Dry Eyes

Dry eyes is a one of the common eye problems. It happens when the eyes doesn’t produce sufficient tears. It is caused by many factors from lack of hydration, straining the eyes, exposure to pollution caused due to environmental factors, dry air, dust allergies, etc. Dry eyes are irritating, burning, also ruin the daily activity, where closing the eyes would give relief. Inflammation of eye lids

  • Drink water and stay hydrated to manage healthy vision.
  • Do not go for cheap sunglasses or spectacles. Cheap glasses may affect the eye health, rather than protecting the vision.
  • Get oil bath at least once in a week to cool and soothe the eyes. It helps easing irritation, burns and itchy eyes.
  • Eat green vegetables to improve the vision
  • Spend 10 – 15 minutes a day to some simple eye exercises to improve eye health and vision.
  • Get break for 1 to 2 minutes from screen for every 30 minutes.
  • Rub hands for a minute and apply the warmth of the palms on eyes. It soothes the eyes and aid in healthy vision.
  • Wear protective goggles during extreme climate changes, windy and hot season.
